BILIONETWORKS' SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Bilionetworks is committed to connecting people to a better world and this begins with our hand in the development of the communities we serve. We take delight in connecting people through the services we provide but even greater pride and hard work goes into ensuring that our South African citizens are not left behind.

Looking to the future, Bilionetworks is well aware that the youth, our future of South Africa, and SMME’s contribute to the economy. Herein lies our motivation for the social responsibility programmes we run, an ethos shared by all of our employees too. Our goal is to impact our youth through two main developmental programmes and invest in black owned SMME’s.

BILIONETWORKS IN THE COMMUNITY

YOUTH CYCLING DEVELOPMENTAL PROGRAMME

Teaching commitment, dedication, discipline, and the ability to remain focused under pressure, Bilionetworks invested in Groenvlei Secondary School by running a Cycling Developmental Programme for 4 years. Bilionetworks played a pivotal role in the startup of the Groenvlei High and Bilionetworks Cycle Challenge which took place in February 2020. The riders were made up of three teachers , the coach and twenty learners, who rode a distance of 450km over 6 days overcoming the challenges from Barrydale via Zuurbrak and ending at the school premises. Over the six days the riders visit 13 unprivileged schools, where learners spoke about cancer awareness and gave gifts to the schools. The event had a net profit of R330,000.00 which was shared between Groenvlei High and the Aris Cancer Foundation. Bilionetworks has committed to be the anchor sponsor for the next four years.

YOUTH SKILLS DEVELOPMENTAL PROGRAMME

Bilionetworks launched a Learnership Programme for matriculants who do not have access to educational opportunities beyond matric. Through this initiative, we give students the opportunity to obtain a qualification, through a trusted learning organisation, and work experience over a period of 12 months. Our contribution to South Africa is not only creating job opportunities but also invests in our future skills of South Africa.

ENTERPRISE AND SUPPLIER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME

Through our investment in the INYOSI empowerment fund, we aim to provide black owned SMME’s with the opportunity to excel and grow in our South African economy. In this way we are not only giving entrepreneurs a platform to perform and expand, but also contributing to the wider economy of South Africa through the creation of job opportunities.
